All winners of the Visit York Tourism Awards will be automatically eligible to enter the VisitEngland Excellence Awards.
No. 21 York was named as the Best Bed & Breakfast for 2018 at a Gala Event in York's National Railway Museum, hosted by Visit York.
The Visit York Tourism Awards - known as the Oscars of the city's tourism sector - take place each year, shining a spotlight on excellence in tourism and rewarding outstanding service, innovation and quality.

The 2018 glittering awards ceremony took place on Thursday 21 June at the National Railway Museum.
Celebrating the best in our industry, this event was a fantastic night out for anyone working in the tourism sector, and a chance to network with 500 guests. Against the backdrop of the National Railway Museum the event offered some great entertainment and the chance to enjoy a delicious three course meal whilst winners and finalists were announced at a Black Tie awards ceremony held in the grand Station Hall.
The Visit York Tourism Awards celebrate individuals and companies who offer that extra special service and experience for York’s seven million visitors.
Judging is carried out by an independent panel of judges for the Visit York Tourism Awards 2018. Our judges look for evidence of excellence and best practice in all areas of the business operation. A word limit is set for each section/question and it is strongly recommended that you keep your entry to the stated word count. Winners were chosen by awarding marks for the application form and then, depending on which category was being assessed, the judging of shortlisted businesses involved either a mystery shop or an interview with a panel. The judges had to make some tough decisions, firstly in determining the shortlist and then in selecting winners from an impressive line up of finalists, all clearly demonstrating a quality product underpinned by outstanding customer service.
